          First we should define and understand faith/belief analytically.  Therefore  consider, everyone always practices belief/faith.  Indeed, it is the human spiritual modus operandi.  Let me elaborate.  Faith is basically the sum of two actions: Intellect and Emotion.  Everyone thinks, feels and therefore believes!

Next appreciate that Intellect itself may be subdivided into thought and imagination.

We are fundamentally done!  Anything further is just more elaboration.  But, that is similar to repetition...and that is how we learn...so I commence.

          Then, to "reload:" Faith/Belief is: Thought, Imagination and Emotion.  It is not "Rocket Science!"

     
The problem, as such: It is so natural, automatic and quick we do not particularly notice!  Almost like a "Cannot see the forest because of the trees" scenario!  Hence, a big part of our objective is to break it up, or, slow it down, and gain control; as follows.

Again, "it all starts with" Thought.  The reason I put "it all starts" in parenthesis is (at the risk of confusing matters; but this must be qualified!) that two things, in fact, precede thought!  They are: God and energy.  In other words... Thought comes from energy, and energy comes from God. (Of course it is completely futile to ask where God comes from, so I desist).  Thankfully, God and energy are constant, therefore we need not be concerned with them, respectively.

Now, back to "Thought."

How (or, what) in accordance then, do we actually think?  The somewhat obvious answer is...Words.  We think (in the form, or through the vehicle of) words.  Amazing, is it not?  How simple; how profound; how powerful!!

Remember, we are evaluating Intellect... It has two parts: Thought and Imagination; and we considered, relative to Thought, that we "Think (in the form of) words.  Yet again: we are examining Intellect; Intellect equals Thought and Imagination; hence: We think words... and... SEE IMAGES! 

But, once more, it happens so fast we do not specifically notice!  Though, to "step back," the process may be readily acknowledged.

          It is always fun experimenting with/proving the above... Are you ready??

I am going to set forth a word as follows, and see if you can "observe" the process we have been considering as it operates within yourself...

...Sandwich.


...As you read the above adjective, you thought the word, and imagined... a...sandwich!!

That, to re-reiterate, is, "Intellect in action!" (Intellect =) We think words and see images. ... Intellect is one half of Faith/Belief.  The other part (again) is Emotion:


As I integrate Emotion progressively, it helps if you remain in a "second person" type of attitude, otherwise - since "they happen so fast" - you can miss it!


There will be an emotional response you feel (as indeed...there already was, and you already did!) when you forthwith repeat the little exercise, as above.


Along with the thought (word) and image, goes a coincident Emotion representative of ... a ... Sandwich!!
